This Privacy Policy covers Gardenbook's treatment of any personally identifiable information that is collected or held. Gardenbook complies with the National Privacy Principles as outlined in the Privacy Act with regard to personal information.
Sharing Information on Gardenbook:
Gardenbook is a website driven by user generated content.
Gardenbook is based on the sharing of information, photos and videos with other users - enabling people with the common interest of gardening to connect with one another.
It is therefore left to the discretion of user as to what is or is not shared on Gardenbook, by virtue of their choice in submitted content. Privacy settings also allow users to select what level of content provided is shared, and with who.
By default, much of the activity and content on Gardenbook is be published on profiles of the user's friends. This in turn, may be seen by friends of the user's friends.
Gardenbook understands the importance of privacy. Gardenbook has adopted this Privacy Policy in recognition of the right of users to keep their personal information confidential, secure and private.
Deleted, modified and removed content may persist in backup copies for an indefinite period of time but will never be shared with, or available to other users.

Gardenbook is part of the Gardening Central and Flower Power networks. Gardenbook may collect information about you, such as your name and contact details to simplify the process of transitioning between Gardenbook, Gardening Central and Flower Power websites. This includes retention of cookies across all websites, allowing a member logged in to any one site in the network to be automatically logged in to all sites across the network.
Where practicable, the purpose for which we collect personal information and the consequences of not providing it will be made clear at the time of collection.
To optimise the user experience on Gardenbook, we capture user-specific data on network capabilities, browse and operating system versions, screen resolutions, monitor colours, flash versions, java support, connection speed, network location, hostnames, service providers, mobile operators, language preferences, browser capabilities, browsing actives, sessions lengths, return visits, entrance sources & keywords, landing pages, exist pages, referring websites and browsing trends.
This information is collected solely to assist in creating a streamlined, efficient experience for users.
How We Use Information:

Gardenbook stores information to help deliver more relevant advertising to users. This includes data on how users interact with advertisements on the website including clickthroughs and "dig"ing.
Access To Your Information:
You can access the personal information that Gardenbook holds about you by contacting the Gardenbook Group Human Resources Manager as set out below. Gardenbook will provide you with access to your personal information unless legally authorised to refuse your request. Gardenbook may charge a reasonable amount for administrative costs in providing access. If you wish to change personal information that is out-of-date or inaccurate, you are able to do so by "editing" your profile. If information is incorrect, out of date or misleading, you may contact us and request it be amended. Gardenbook may refuse your request to access, amend or delete your personal information in certain circumstances. If your request is refused, you will be provided with a reason for the decision and, in the case of amendment, Gardenbook will note that you have disputed the accuracy of your personal information.
Security:
Gardenbook will take all reasonable steps to keep secure any personal information held and to keep this information accurate. Personal information is stored in a secure server or files. The internet is not always a secure method of transmitting information. Accordingly, while Gardenbook has sought to protect your personal information by implementing digital security systems in various sections of the website, Gardenbook cannot accept responsibility for the security of information you send to or receive over the Internet or for any unauthorised access or use of that information.
